The ending includes seeming references to the song "Big Iron"The characters include pseudonymous characters: Carl Hitchcock, a Marine Corps sniper based upon the real sniper, Carlos Hathcock. Other characters are based upon Ted Turner, Jane Fonda, Bill Ayers, and Chuck Mawhinney.
